It’s been an interesting last few months. Back in the summer we began to look for premises to work from rather than blasting up and down the motorways of Britain. Several reasons behind this, cost of fuel, traffic delays and road conditions, but mainly it was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain correspondence with clients and the development of new products we were keen to undertake. Because both Len and I live within spitting distance of Cheltenham, so this was the first port of call, however nothing really fitted the bill that we would have been keen to welcome our clientele of Aston Martin owners to. In the end we chanced upon an old Apple computer centre in Tewkesbury, just off the M5 (J9). The building’s security was already in place and top notch, the inside was clean and light, separate office and kitchen and somewhere for waiting clients to sit. The plus points for us as well were the close proximity to my Special Needs Son’s School and Greggs bakery (other bakeries are available….)!
Now with workshop facilities we can undertake the bigger jobs of changing amplifier and speaker systems on the older Aston’s. Currently we have a DBS in for a complete interior strip and colour change before fitting a 360 degree camera system and Apple CarPlay, something we would not have been able to do without workshop premises. We also have a workbench assembly area where we are making the TPMS defeats, Bluetooth Switcher units for the V8 Vantage and kits for parking cameras and Smartphone mirror system to ship across the World.
As mentioned in the previous paragraph, the next developments are for Apple CarPlay as an option to augment/replace the original Volvo Sat Nav system on Aston Martin models from 2004 to 2012 and the addition of a 360 camera system similar to that on the new DB11 and Vantage, but available for the Garmin based system from 2012 to 2016.
